Your Ringaly school directory is automatically synchronized to the contact data in your school information system. The phone number at the top of the directory is the Ringaly number for your school and every student is an 'extension' on that number.
To reach ALL a student's contacts you now just need to make a single call, or send a single text, to the student's extension.
Finding students
To quickly find a student or group of students (e.g. all students in 3rd grade) use the search boxes at the top of the directory.
Use the Search by dropdown to search by student name or group.
If searching by name - start typing into the search box to filter the list of extensions to students matching your search string.
If searching by group - select a group from the group list to show the student extensions for that group, e.g. Grade 5.
Click the red X to return to all students.
Calling a student's contacts
From any phone, dial your school's Ringaly number (the number at the top of the directory) .
When prompted, use your phone keypad to enter the student's extension followed by the # key.
Your call will be connected to the first family contact to answer.
Other contacts receive a text saying school called (and who answered).
You can call a student's Ringaly extension from any landline or cell phone, or from the directory by clicking on the student's extension and selecting 'Call'.
Texting a student's contacts
From any text-capable device, compose a text to your school's Ringaly number (the number at the top of the directory) .
Prefix the text message with the student's extension (preceded by # and followed by a space), e.g. #100 please call school about Freddie.
Send the text. It will automatically be forwarded to all the student's contacts.
You can send texts to a student's Ringaly extension from any text-capable device, or from the directory by clicking on the student's extension and selecting 'Text'.
Texting contacts for a student group
Select Search by: Group (see Finding students).
Find the student group and verify that the list of students looks right (below the search boxes you can see the number of students/extensions).
Click the Group Text button and follow the prompts (this button only appears when your license includes group texts and you select Search by: Group).
NOTE: be careful not to send too many group texts as it increases the chance that parents will ignore them and your Ringaly license may have limits on the annual number of text messages it can send.
